You can cook in pots even without lids: how smart housewives get out of a difficult situation

To prepare a particular dish in a pot, you most often need to cover the container with a lid.

But what if the necessary element is lost in the depths of kitchen cabinets or, even worse, broken, accidentally slipping out of your hands?

In this case, two things will come to the rescue: one of them is ingenuity, and the second is dough.

All you need to do is knead the unleavened dough and divide it into 2 equal parts.

One of the parts should be rolled out thicker, and the other thinner, and, using a saucer, cut out circles from each layer of dough with a knife.

Cover the pot with a thicker circle, pressing its edges a little. Sprinkle chopped herbs with garlic and a little cheese or butter on top, and then cover with a thinner dough.

All that's left is to press the edges and make 3-4 holes with a toothpick. Now the pots can be put in the oven.

Don't forget to brush the "lids" with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds after 20-30 minutes, after which they should be put back in the oven to bake.

Even if you have factory lids on hand, try this method with dough lids anyway. Firstly, much less steam escapes through them, which means that the aroma and taste of the dish will be more intense, and secondly, at the end of cooking you will already have a ready-made flatbread that can be used instead of bread.
