At first glance, it seems that preparing a buckwheat side dish is very simple.

But in fact, to make the dish tasty, crumbly and aromatic, you need to take into account some nuances.

One of them is the right proportions. But even if the ratio of products is observed, buckwheat sometimes turns into a shapeless sticky mass.

Subtleties of cooking buckwheat

1. The ideal proportions, according to experienced cooks, are: 1 cup of buckwheat and 2 cups of water. Otherwise, there will be two outcomes - either it will not cook properly, or it will turn into a mush.

2. Butter will improve the taste of the dish. For 1 glass of buckwheat - 40-50 g. Salt also improves the taste, but it is better not to overdo it - 1/3 tsp. for 2 glasses of water.

3. To prevent the grains from sticking together even if the proportions are correct, do not stir them until the moisture has evaporated during the cooking process.

A little trick

Experienced cooks know one trick to make buckwheat even tastier. Before cooking, the grain needs to be heated in a frying pan. The porridge will be more aromatic and crumbly. Fry the buckwheat without oil, but stir constantly until a slight aroma appears.
