As you know, cottage cheese belongs to the class of perishable products.

If you leave it in a warm place, it will soon turn sour. In dampness, cottage cheese will soon become moldy.

So how do you store fermented milk products so that they stay fresh for as long as possible?

The answer is simple: after purchasing, pack the cottage cheese tightly into a glass or porcelain container, then cover the container with a lid or wrap it in parchment and put it in the refrigerator.

There is another option, which experienced housewives resort to no less often, using enamelware and a couple of pieces of sugar to store this fermented milk product.

If you ignored the recommendations and the cottage cheese still became very sour, use this clever trick.

Mix the cottage cheese with an equal amount of fresh milk and then leave it for 1 hour.

After the specified time, throw the curd into a colander lined with gauze and wait until the excess liquid drains. All that remains is to put the product under the press, as a result of which it will become tender and less sour.
