The best recipe is one that allows you to prepare an original dish without any fuss and preferably without baking.
An example is a potato pie with cheese, which is something between a huge potato pancake and a babka or potato casserole.
The potatoes need to be peeled, grated (coarse), squeeze out excess juice, put into a bowl and add 2 raw eggs.
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, add to the egg-potato mixture, stir, add salt and pepper to taste.
Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil, spread the potato mixture in a layer up to 2 cm thick and fry over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on one side.
Then turn the pie over to the other side, fry for 2 minutes and only then cover the pan with a lid.
After 5 minutes, remove the pie from the pan, sprinkle with chopped herbs, pour over sour cream and serve.
