Mackerel is one of those northern fish species that have the most positive effect on health, and at the same time is not particularly expensive.
Usually fish is baked or salted. One day it gets boring and you just want something new. Here's a wonderful thing you can cook from mackerel.
The mackerel needs to be cut up - remove the head, entrails, tail, fins. Then rinse the carcass from bile. Cut into pieces of 3-4 centimeters, put in a saucepan with a thick bottom.
Add 1 teaspoon of salt (without a slide), a few black peppercorns and 4 bay leaves, then add 0.5 l of cold water and bring to a boil.
Then cook the fish on low heat under a lid for 10 minutes, then leave for 7-10 minutes, covering the pan with a towel.
We look at the fish, remove the bones, and strain the broth.
Cut the white bread into cubes, maybe a little dried out, and then pour in the fish broth to soak it.
Cut the onion into medium cubes, fry, add salt, sprinkle with spices, add a pinch of turmeric, bring to a boil, add the soaked bread, bring to a boil again, add cream or sour cream to taste, cook for 3 minutes and remove from heat.
Grind the sauce in a blender for a few minutes, put the boiled mackerel fillets on plates, pour over the bread sauce and serve, garnished with herbs.
Bon appetit!
