Stewed cabbage seems like such an everyday dish that it doesn’t inspire much enthusiasm.
This will continue until you learn how experienced cooks prepare this nutritious, healthy and tasty dish. There is one secret that turns a vegetable into a wonderful side dish.
We clean the cabbage from the top leaves, the stalk and chop it as usual.
Then heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and add freshly chopped cabbage.
Fry until half-ready, stirring constantly. Before adding the sauerkraut, it should be put into a colander to remove excess moisture (brine), you can even squeeze it out.
Mix the two types of cabbage in a frying pan, simmer for 5 minutes and add tomato paste, salt and other spices or herbs to taste.
Stir and simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve hot.
Bon appetit!
