Raspberries are the most delicious and healthy berry because they contain many vitamins.

They make delicious jam from it, cook compotes, use it as a filling for pies, dumplings and cakes. The main condition for the preparation is to preserve all the vitamins and minerals in the berries.

Freezing raspberries

Home-grown raspberries from your own garden do not need to be washed. Sort them carefully, leaving whole and undamaged ones.

Rinse the raspberries you bought at the supermarket or market in a colander under cold running water and dry them on a paper towel. Then put them in sealed bags measuring 20x40 cm and put them in the freezer. Such bags hold only 2-3 servings of raspberries, which is very beneficial when consumed.

Freezing raspberries to keep them whole and undamaged

To do this, cover a small kitchen board or flat saucer with parchment paper or food foil and place the raspberries on it at a certain distance. Transfer to the freezer and let it freeze completely. Then take it out and put the berries in an airtight bag and put it in the freezer.

Defrosting raspberries

To defrost raspberries, place them on a plate in one layer and put them on a shelf in the refrigerator. Or put them on a table in the room if the temperature is not higher than 20°C.

Drying raspberries in an oven or electric dryer

The time for complete drying of raspberries in an electric dryer is about 20 hours. It turns out simply ideal not only in shape, but also in taste. To dry raspberries, use an oven. To do this, place the berries on a baking sheet covered with parchment, transfer to an oven heated to 60 ° C and set the convection mode for 6 hours. To circulate air in the oven, slightly open the door.

However, you can’t move too far away from the raspberries, so that they don’t burn.

Proper storage of dried raspberries

Dry berries should be stored in clean, dry glass jars, covered with lids, or sealed hermetically.
