When cooking, you can get confused and add too much salt.

At this point, many people get upset, forgetting that the problem can be solved in several ways. Therefore, it is worth analyzing typical situations and solution options.

Broth or soup

The easiest way to oversalt soup or broth is during cooking. There are several ways to fix this problem.

  1. Increase the amount of water and ingredients for cooking. This method is only suitable if you have time and a larger diameter container.
  2. Add some honey. As practice shows, one teaspoon should be enough. It is not recommended to increase the amount of honey, as the taste of the broth may change.
  3. Mix vinegar and sugar in equal proportions. Add it one spoon at a time, gradually, controlling the taste. The method works, but it is important to be rational.
  4. Add prunes and cook for a few minutes. The fruit absorbs salt well. The downside of this method is that it changes the taste of the broth.

The best way is to add large potatoes to the soup, which will absorb some of the salt. Of course, you need to take these potatoes out after cooking. Some people recommend adding rice or flour to the soup, using a special bag. The cereal absorbs salt very well.

Vegetable dishes

To reduce the salt concentration in vegetable dishes, it is enough to increase the volume. There is no point in trying to neutralize it with sugar, honey, and other methods.

Fish dishes

With fish dishes it is a bit more complicated, but with the right skill everything can be fixed. When frying, it is recommended to stew the fish with flour sauce. You can also add:

  • sour cream;
  • puree;
  • vegetables.

These components will absorb some of the salt.

Oversalted side dish

You can accidentally oversalt a side dish, and many people don't know what to do. But why make your life difficult? You can serve the side dish with an unsalted sauce that can compensate for the taste.
