Aluminum pots are in demand because they heat up quickly and are easier to clean.

At first glance, it may seem that this cookware is universal. Allegedly, you can cook whatever you want in it.

But experienced cooks have warned about one mistake that will leave you without both dinner and a saucepan.

Aluminum can react with acids in food, such as tomatoes or wine.

This results in a whole list of dishes that should not be cooked in an aluminum pan.

This applies to tomato soups, tomato sauces, and wine-based dressings. The list includes meat stewed in 200 ml of dry red wine. It is better to use other materials for these treats.

For example, ceramics, enamel or stainless steel are suitable for long-term processing of acidic products. Chefs also advise against using cast iron in this case. Tomatoes, wine or lemon can destroy the protective film.
