Parents may have their own secrets and mysteries that children should not know about.
This does not concern questions of the continuation of the human race or who brings presents under the tree – dad or Santa Claus. Everything is much more serious.
In such cases, psychologists identify the following secrets as the main ones.
Firstly, the problems of adults
Parents sometimes don’t think twice and sort things out in front of their children, and even more so, involve them in these squabbles.
This applies to disagreements and major quarrels. The reason and circumstances are not important.
A child does not need to know about everyday difficulties, loans and expensive apartment repairs, as well as the disappointments that arise as a result.
Because of this, children begin to get used to rough treatment early on.
Secondly, marital relations
There is nothing for children to do here at all. Everything that concerns the personal life of spouses, including marital fidelity, is a purely personal matter.
Thirdly, conflicts with relatives
If parents have difficulties in their relationships with loved ones, regardless of the degree of kinship, children should not be involved in these secrets.
Moreover, children should not be forced to choose someone’s side – their grandmother, uncle or parents.
One must be prepared that by questioning the authority of the older generation in the eyes of a child, parents risk losing their own authority in the eyes of their own children.
For the same reason, you should not swear in front of children when talking about teachers at school, friends and acquaintances.
In other words, parents should hide all their negative views and judgments about anyone from their children if they want to raise kind and sociable children.
