How to develop musical abilities in a child: play games with him

If you want to inspire your child to take up music and dance, try playing music games with him.

For children 3-4 years old

At this age, games that aim to develop hearing are suitable.

To introduce your baby to high and low sounds, play him the chirping of birds or the sound of a mosquito (high sounds), then let him listen to a calm female or male voice (these sounds are in the middle range) and finish with the growl of a bear or the roar of an airplane (low sounds). Be sure to ask your child to repeat how a mosquito squeaks and how a bear roars so that he learns to control the pitch of his voice.

To develop control over the intensity of sound, you can use the game "Loud and Quiet". Just speak louder and quieter, and let the child repeat. Give the child tasks: for example, to pronounce a certain phrase quietly, louder and very loudly. You can also turn on music and change its volume. Let the child determine by ear when the sound becomes louder or weaker.

For children 4-5 years old

The game "The Sea Worries Once" familiar to many will help develop attention and coordination. Turn on an active melody and start dancing with your child, then read the counting rhyme and stop the song. The child should come up with a pose and freeze.

For children 5-6 years old

Five- and six-year-olds love active musical games. The more active, the better. Children will enjoy round dances, dances, relay races, and games of tag to music.
