A smartphone is no longer just a means of communication. It is a part of a person’s inner world, embodied in a small device.

But children need a smartphone not so much to communicate with their parents, but to play games, visit social networks and watch videos. So is it worth spending money on this?

At what age can you buy a child their first smartphone, reports the Zen channel "O!" with reference to child psychologist Ksenia Shchukina.

For children under 3 years old

At this age, it is not only early, but also contraindicated to introduce a child to a gadget.

Parents can turn on funny songs or fairy tales from their device, but they should not give the smartphone to the child.

From 3 to 6 years

Whether they like it or not, children periodically take over their parents' phones. This is required by their growing bodies, developing brains, and parental habits.

There is no way around this, but parents should not rush: at this age, a child’s own phone will not do any good.

It will be enough to let him use his gadget for a limited amount of time.

From 7 to 10 years

The child starts going to school and parents need to control him. A mistake at this stage would be to refuse to buy a gadget.

It would be right to buy a smartphone and install a parental control application on it, with which you can control traffic and applications installed on the device.

But the most important thing is to convey to the child that the phone is a means of communication with parents, and only then a toy.
