The distinctive features of barefoot shoes are a very thin sole, no heel and a wide toe.
Thanks to these features, it recreates sensations that are as close as possible to those that a person gets from walking barefoot.
Perhaps the main advantage of such shoes is their wide toes.
This means that your toes will always have plenty of room in barefoot shoes and will not become crooked, and your nails will not become ingrown due to compression.
There are many more disadvantages to such shoes, we will tell you about the two main ones.
The first is the lack of cushioning - a thin sole is not able to cushion as much as a more or less thick sole with a heel. The latter, in addition to everything, reduces the load on the joints and helps distribute the load on the muscles of the foot.
The second drawback is the lack of protection. It will be unpleasant for a child to walk even on a short-cut lawn, since the grass will noticeably prick the foot through the thin sole.
Earlier we talked about two mistakes parents make that destroy a child’s motivation.
