What to do if your child gets his feet wet while out for a walk: illness can be avoided

There is a common belief among mothers and fathers that if their child gets his feet wet, he will certainly get sick.

And although this is not necessary, it is quite likely; it is not for nothing that our grandmothers used to say: “The main thing is not to get your feet cold!”

Let's look into this issue in more detail.

First of all, it is worth remembering that the cause of any cold is bacteria and viruses, and not wet feet. But the fact is that if water gets into children's boots, it is much easier for bacteria and viruses to attack the child's body.

The whole point is that when your feet get wet, the blood vessels spasm and narrow.

As a result, the blood does a worse job of warming the tissues of the feet, and this, in turn, is fraught with the fact that the body's defenses are reduced, albeit temporarily.

And it is at this moment that pathogenic microorganisms, which are always present near us, become active.

If the child is hardened, then such a situation will become nothing more than another training session for him. But if hardening procedures were not carried out on a regular basis, parents should take appropriate measures.

The baby should be taken to a warm place and dried thoroughly. If possible, change the baby's clothes and give him a warm drink. Put on two socks at once - thin and woolen.

The faster a child warms up, the less likely he is to get sick.

Previously, we explained why parents should read fairy tales to their children .
