Is Studying the Most Important Thing? Why You Shouldn't Force Your Child to Be an Excellent Student

Learning is certainly an important process for a child.

And it's good if a student managed to become an excellent student. This certainly indicates that he has no problems with learning the material, as well as with acquiring new knowledge and skills.

But should you force your child to get only good grades at any cost?

Of course not. Firstly, parents in this case exert strong psychological pressure on their son or daughter.

Secondly, a schoolchild should develop not only intellectually. Therefore, focusing exclusively on studying is impossible.

Three directions of child development

Studying is an important, but far from the only direction of a child's development. The child should also develop physically and socially.

If you focus only on the first point, forgetting about the second and third, then the child is unlikely to achieve success in life.

It's good if a student gets only the highest grades. But it's bad if such a result is achieved by refusing to fully communicate with peers.

Life is very difficult for children for whom nothing exists except studying.

It is necessary not only to master mathematics and physics, but also to be able to make friends and do at least the simplest work around the house.

A sociable and physically active good student has a better chance of self-realization than a secretive, silent and insecure excellent student.

However, if a child manages to study perfectly without compromising physical and social development, then there is no need to change the situation. The main thing is not to force a student to be an excellent student.
