Tangerines are very healthy, but they can also be harmful, especially to teeth.
The acids and sugar contained in tangerines can damage tooth enamel.
Russian dentist Yulia Grishenina explained how to avoid this.
The expert's recommendations are cited by the publication "Doctor Peter" .
Firstly, tangerines should be consumed during main meals.
As Grishenina explained, this allows to reduce the concentration of acids in the mouth.
The optimal solution is to combine tangerines with foods rich in calcium and protein.
For example, with cheese or unsweetened yogurt. They neutralize the acid and reduce the sensitivity of the enamel.
Secondly, you shouldn’t brush your teeth immediately after eating tangerines.
This will only make the problem worse. Let the enamel "rest" for 30-40 minutes.
But it is useful to rinse your mouth with water after eating tangerines.
The dentist also recommended using dental floss. It will help remove the remains of fruit fibers.
