Fatty foods on the New Year's table can provoke pancreatitis.
Russian gastroenterologist Lyudmila Sukhorukova warned about this.
Her recommendations are cited by the publication NEWS.ru.
As Sukhorukova explained, pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) is accompanied by digestive problems and severe pain. This is a serious disease that requires long-term treatment.
In acute pancreatitis, the following symptoms are observed: shortness of breath, pallor, severe abdominal pain localized in the left hypochondrium, nausea, vomiting.
Pancreatitis can develop due to an unbalanced diet, alcohol consumption, infectious damage to the pancreas, gallstone disease, and abdominal trauma.
At risk are people whose diet consists mainly of fatty, fried and spicy foods.
To avoid pancreatitis on New Year's Eve, you should limit your consumption of fatty foods.
The pancreas does not recover and therefore will no longer be able to function at full capacity with chronic pancreatitis, the doctor warned.
