A psychologist gave 5 tips on how to get rid of melancholy

Among the methods of combating the blues, praised by Byron, there are general and specific ones.

The main thing is that melancholy does not last “forever”, even if you are far from civilization; while a person is alive, while the heart beats, the brain perceives the world and gives birth to new ideas, and with them the mood changes, says psychologist Andrei Kashkarov .

A state of melancholy, of course, can also happen to a marathon runner or even a sprinter, but for a follower of a healthy lifestyle and a supporter of sports training this is not typical.

In such people, the blues quickly arise and pass just as quickly. Because the vital activity, the level of human activity are determined, among other things, by the biochemical composition of the blood. The brain (intellectual) and physical activity, working capacity (duration) and, in general, energy and mood depend on the "quality" of its purification by the liver - the only self-healing organ of the human body. In particular, monitor the level of hemoglobin and eat the appropriate products if necessary - beets, hematogen, etc. This invigorates in a natural way - safer than caffeine-containing products - tea and coffee.

First: the biochemical composition of the blood is directly affected by the diet, therefore, it is advisable to exclude fats, vinegar, sugar and proteins, adding fresh vegetables, fruits, products containing fiber and brown rice. An endocrinologist will consult you in more detail on this topic.

When there is physical movement, there is better functioning of the blood in the arteries, and high-quality work of the liver. And all this together affects the mood in a positive way.

Hence the second recommendation – movement: the more often – the better. Of course, when we are talking not just about gymnastics, but about systematic sports training, we need to be concerned with a smooth (not abrupt) increase in the load (today we did 50 push-ups, tomorrow – no less than 55); by the same analogy, all other physical activities.

Third - fresh air. This is a must. Running or walking - as an option available to almost everyone.

The fourth point is the elimination of the cumulative effect of fatigue. A medically healthy man aged 20 can, in principle, not sleep for three days, and this does not lead to irreversible consequences, but it is better not to allow such critical circumstances. Hence the recommendation: planning and a work and rest schedule “work” well against melancholy and the blues. It is advisable to always follow it, since the human body “adjusts to habit” and lives according to it; in this state it is most comfortable. Write down your daily routine and plan for the day/week/month and follow them.

Fifth. One of the essential conditions for fighting melancholy is the movement “from the opposite”. Let’s say (this happens) the cumulative effect of insomnia or negative emotions has led to an unnecessary result – you “give up” and “don’t want anything”. Activity is needed – through “don’t want”. If you don’t want to go anywhere – take a contrast shower.

If you haven't had any contact with the opposite sex for a long time, don't neglect it, do what you can, intimacy is important. If you are exhausted during the day or have been under the influence of noise, bright dynamically changing pictures before your eyes for a long time, devote the evening to rest; simply go to bed, even if it's only 7 pm...

It is also useful (from the opposite) to change impressions to new ones - go out into nature, make decisions spontaneously (as much as possible), go to another city. Haven't flown on a plane - fly, haven't jumped with a parachute - dare. And all in the same spirit. Melancholy will be frightened and leave you for a long time.
