American experts have conducted another study to identify factors that can reduce the risk of developing the disease.

It turns out that people with dentures are significantly less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease.

The scientists' findings were published in Medical Xpress .

It is reported that 577 volunteers took part in the work. All of them were men, and their average age was 68 years.

Their dental health was checked and the presence of implants was recorded. The examination was conducted every three years from 1969 to 2001.

In addition, their chewing process was studied.

All participants also took tests of cognitive abilities.

The results showed that people with fixed dentures had a lower risk of cognitive impairment, but this was not the case for people with removable dentures, who had a higher risk.
