For example, the cholesterol level is important. If it is elevated, then cholesterol plaques lead to disruption of the blood supply to the brain, the organ begins to experience a deficiency of oxygen and nutrition.

The upper limit of the normal total cholesterol level should be considered to be 5.5 mmol/l.

As a result, if cholesterol is increased by three units, the risk of dementia increases by 9 percent.
