There is an opinion that smartphones and other gadgets can provoke the development of cancer.
Doctor Marina Mukhametshina commented on whether this is really the case.
She recalled that such a theory appeared a long time ago, and modern technology has changed.
The doctor debunked the myth that computers or phones cause cancer.
Mukhametshinova also denied the information that some food products can reduce the risk of developing cancer.
“However, proper nutrition can have a healing effect on the body, as a result of which the risks of developing cancer will be reduced,” the Izvestia publication quotes the specialist as saying.
She dispelled another myth, stating that cancer cannot be inherited, but it is possible to acquire a genetic predisposition to it.
Therefore, it is important to get tested to identify risks.
In addition, during a conversation with journalists, the doctor refuted the assertion that people began to encounter oncology more often in the modern world. According to her, people had cancer before, but diagnostics were worse, which meant that it was more difficult to detect the problem at early stages.
