Dr. Yakim Lahai spoke about the most common myths in the field of dental treatment that dentists encounter in their work.
He shared the details with the publication Gazeta.Ru .
As the doctor noted, the most popular myth is that baby teeth do not need to be treated. But ultimately, if this is not done, serious problems with permanent teeth may arise. In addition, infections can enter the body through a diseased tooth.
Another common myth is that tooth decay is caused by sweets.
But teeth are protected from this problem by enamel, the density of which depends on both the person’s heredity and the toothpaste that he regularly uses.
But this still does not mean that you can eat sweets in large quantities.
It is advisable to avoid jelly candies and toffees, which stick to the teeth, release acid and cause problems.
In a conversation with journalists, Lahai highlighted the last myth: baby teeth have no roots or nerves.
Here we need to figure it out. When such a tooth falls out, its roots dissolve. As for the nerves, they are there too, after all, they must deliver the nutrients that make the enamel white and strong.
