The disease is rarely linked to genes, accounting for less than 1% of cases.

Most often, the problem appears due to an unhealthy lifestyle.

This was stated by neurologist Alexandra Alekhina.

As the specialist noted, it is possible to reduce the risk of developing dementia. To do this, you need to give up bad habits, get enough sleep, and reduce the amount of sugar and refined carbohydrates in your diet.

Regarding the last point, refined carbohydrates include pasta, white rice, flour and bread, as well as pizza dough, breakfast cereals, baked goods and desserts.

“Blood sugar levels in the upper part of the normal range at age 35 increase the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease later in life by 15%,” writes “ MedicForum ,” citing Alekhina.

You need to add healthy foods to your diet, for example, fish and fish oil, vegetables and fruits.

It is also important to remember to take vitamins, for example, B6 and B12.
