As you know, not all foods can be combined with alcohol.
In this case, we are not only talking about harmful sweet or fatty foods that lead to weight gain and swelling.
It is important to remember that even some healthy foods cannot be combined with wine. In order not to spoil the taste and impression of the drink, it is worth remembering this.
Specialist Olesya Bunyaeva spoke about this in more detail, RIA Novosti writes.
As Bunyaeva noted, you shouldn't wash down Brussels sprouts with wine. They contain compounds that impart an earthy, nutty flavor. As a result, this doesn't pair well with the sophisticated drink. The same goes for garlic and broccoli.
As for eggs, they are suitable as an appetizer for acidic sparkling wines.
If soy sauce is used in dishes and appetizers, it will complicate the choice of wine for dinner. The whole problem is due to the sour-salty-sweet taste.
Asparagus will not go well with wine either. The result will be a metallic taste that will ruin the whole impression. But the situation can be corrected by frying the product and serving it with sauce. As a result, such a dish can become a good addition to a dense wine.
