Belarus to expand list of those who will not have to pay transport tax: two categories of citizens will be added

The list of categories of citizens who do not have to pay transport tax may be expanded by two items.
The corresponding conclusion can be made by studying the draft amendments to the Tax Code of the Republic of Belarus.

Who no longer has to pay transport tax
First, it is worth listing the categories of Belarusian citizens who are already exempt from paying the corresponding tax.
The current list includes the following items:
- owners of those vehicles that were deregistered before July 1, 2021;
- owners of those vehicles that were lost as a result of theft or hijacking;
- owners of those vehicles that were converted into state revenue;
- owners of those vehicles that have been specially equipped for use by disabled persons (important point: this entry must be included in the registration certificate).
Who else will not have to pay transport tax?
Now it is worth listing the categories of citizens who will be included in the corresponding list in the updated Tax Code (if, of course, the draft is adopted):
- conscripts;
- individuals performing alternative service.
