According to weather forecasters, this winter in Belarus will be warm and snowy.
The average monthly air temperature will exceed the climatic norm by 1-3 degrees.
Meteorologist Dmitry Ryabov spoke about this on the ONT TV channel.
What will winter be like in Belarus?
As Ryabov explained, the winter will be changeable: warm and humid air masses from the south will alternate with cold and dry ones from the northeast, caused by Arctic air currents.
At the same time, thaws will prevail over severe frosts.
The number of days with thaw varies from 25 in the north-eastern regions to 50 in the south-western regions. The average duration of the thaw will be 4-6 days.
The length of winter varies from 105 days in the southwestern regions to 145 in the northeastern regions.
The amount of precipitation will be higher than the norm for winter, which is 115 millimeters.
Most often, precipitation falls in the form of snow, but during periods of thaw, rain and rain with snow are often observed. Precipitation falls approximately every other day.
There will also be adverse and dangerous weather conditions – snowfalls, blizzards, strong winds, icy conditions, fog.
If we evaluate the winter as a whole, it will be relatively mild, snowy, but unstable and capricious, Ryabov summed up.
