If you still haven't managed to get a decent harvest from your cucumber beds, don't despair. Instead, figure out what exactly went wrong and fix the situation.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed the mistakes that are often made by both inexperienced gardeners and gardening professionals.
1. Placing the beds in direct sunlight
Instead, professionals advise planting cucumbers in moderate partial shade. If this is not possible, you can create shading yourself - for example, using spunbond.
2. Late planting of seedlings
In order not to miss the right time for planting seedlings, carefully study the recommendations on the seed packaging: as a rule, the period from the moment of emergence to planting should not exceed 30 days.
3. Planting cucumbers in the same place every year
Instead, give the future greens the area where tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, beans or beets grew.
4. Thickened plantings
The distance from one cucumber bush to another should not be less than 30 cm.
