If you've started frying fish, you probably expect the dish to at least be able to maintain the integrity of its shape.

If the fish starts to fall apart, it will be difficult to serve it.

As it turns out, there is a main reason why this incident occurs.

Why fish don't hold their shape

Most often, we encounter this problem when preparing a frozen product. Fresh fish is not always available, so frozen is the main option for many.

However, with the right approach, you can prepare an appetizing dish that holds its shape from frozen fish.

First of all, it is important to remember that you need to defrost the product correctly. To do this, before going to bed, you need to move the fish from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. This will get rid of the bulk of the ice.

In the morning, we send the product to the kitchen and complete the defrosting process at room temperature.

Other chefs do it differently. Cooks divide defrosted fish into portions, thoroughly treat it with salt on both sides, and put it in a colander.

Place a container underneath to collect the liquid. Wait a few hours. Then proceed to breading.

With this approach, the fish will definitely not fall apart.
