Why Germans Don't Rinse Dishes After Using Detergent: Is It About Saving Money?

As you know, it is not customary for Germans to rinse dishes after washing.

It turns out that the reason is the Germans' reluctance to waste water unnecessarily.

But what could be the consequences of such savings? Let's try to figure it out together.

First of all, let's note that the process of washing dishes in this country is different from what we are used to. Here, plates and cups are sent to the sink immediately after dinner, without putting off, frankly speaking, the most unpleasant procedure for later.

In German families, they insert a special plug into the sink and then fill it with water – about two-thirds full.

After this, all the dishes are placed in the sink, and detergent is added – albeit in small quantities.

The entire pile of dishes, regardless of their size, is washed exclusively in this water and rinsed right there, after which it is sent out to dry.

Since Germans use only a small amount of detergent to completely remove any residue, they only need to wipe their plates and other dishes after drying with a regular towel.

In this way, Germans not only save money, but also show respect for the environment, because love for natural resources in this country is instilled from childhood.
