If any dirty surface appears in the house, it is immediately wiped down.

A simple example: a German housewife will not leave dirty dishes in the sink. She will start washing the dishes immediately after finishing breakfast, lunch or dinner.
If something dirty falls on the floor, the German woman will immediately start mini-cleaning.
Cleaning the bathroom is never put off until later.
