How to clean a battered old bathtub to a candy-like state: a cheap way to save a bathroom
Stubborn dirt and rusty stains on the snow-white surface of the bathtub is a problem that many people have to face.
Regular store-bought cleaning products are not able to correct the situation, so you have to look for alternative ways to combat contamination.
One of them is based on the use of soda, bleach and vinegar.
You will need 2 tablespoons of washing soda and baking soda.
After you mix them, add a small amount of water to get a thick paste.
This paste must be applied in an even layer to the walls and bottom of the bathtub.
The soda in the cleaning agent will react with the dirt, weakening its adhesion to the enamel. To enhance the effect, scrub the surface of the bathtub with a sponge.
Now you will need to prepare a bleach solution. It consists of two tablespoons of vinegar and chlorine bleach.
Please note: you must wear a respirator during this time and the room must be well ventilated to avoid adverse health effects.
Use a sponge soaked in the solution to wipe the bathtub over the soda paste.
As a result of an active chemical reaction, all ingrained dirt will disappear along with the rust.
After treatment, you will need to thoroughly rinse the bathtub using plenty of clean water to completely remove any remaining cleaning agent.
