According to manufacturers' recommendations, your dishwasher should be cleaned approximately once a month.
However, the recommendation is general in nature – it may be that the equipment installed in your kitchen needs to be washed more often or, conversely, less often.
1. Perhaps the most obvious “symptom” is the unpleasant smell that comes from the working chamber every time you open the dishwasher door.
2. It is also worth assessing the quality of dishwashing. If there is a greasy film or whitish stains on cups and plates, this may indicate that the equipment itself needs cleaning.
3. The same is indicated by pieces of food stuck to the dishes or the inner surface of the chamber.
4. You should clean your dishwasher if you notice rust and mineral deposits on the inner surfaces of the tank.
5. The dishwasher should also be washed if the filter and water spray blades are covered with an indelible deposit.
6. Finally, you should be concerned if the water starts to drain more slowly than usual or starts to leak.
