Some housewives, instead of table vinegar, buy vinegar essence – a highly concentrated solution of acetic acid (usually 70%).
By diluting it with water, you can obtain vinegar of the required concentration.
However, to do this you need to know in what ratio to dilute.
We tell you how to dilute vinegar essence and use the resulting solution.
To obtain a 3% vinegar for salad dressing, you need to take 1 part essence to 22.5 parts water.
To obtain 6% vinegar, used for making marinades for meat and adding to dough, take 1 part essence to 11 parts water.
9% vinegar, added to brine for winter preparations (cucumbers, tomatoes, salads), can be obtained by mixing essence and water in a ratio of 1:7.
