Cutlery is undoubtedly an important element of table setting and must be kept clean and tidy.

However, over time, various contaminants, stains, limescale and scratches may appear on them.

To keep your cutlery in good condition, you need to properly care for it and clean it periodically. Read on to find out how to do this.

Baking soda

This product will do a great job of removing yellowish stains from tea or coffee. To clean cutlery with baking soda, mix it with water in a 3:1 ratio and apply the resulting paste to a soft cloth. Wipe the cutlery with this cloth, and then rinse off traces of the mixture with running water.

Toothpaste

Another way to clean your cutlery. Soak the cutlery in warm water for 10 minutes, then scrub it with toothpaste and a soft brush. After you've scrubbed the cutlery, rinse off any toothpaste residue and wipe the forks and spoons dry with a soft cloth.

Sweet carbonated water

You can also use soda to clean your cutlery. Pour some lemonade into a bowl and place your cutlery there for a few minutes, then rinse it under running water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
