With spring approaching, it's not just about updating your wardrobe. The main issue you need to consider is how to store your winter clothes until next season.

Bulky sweaters and down jackets take up a lot of space, and items made from natural materials can become a haven for pests.

We'll tell you how to prepare your winter wardrobe for the warm season.

Containers to the rescue

They can accommodate hats, scarves and gloves, as well as other accessories and sweaters, but after pre-washing or dry cleaning.

Place a cotton pad soaked in cedar oil or a bunch of lavender in the container along with your items to repel pests.

Be sure to wash all winter knitwear before storing it in summer, because any stains and dirt are a source of odor that attracts moths.

Covers for bulky clothes

It will not be possible to put fur coats, overcoats and down jackets in a container, so you need to stock up on covers.

We hang our outerwear on hangers and put it in a breathable case or cover.

Be sure to put something inside the cover and in the pockets of your coat that will help repel moths.

Shoes

Shoes can only be put away for storage after cleaning, drying and any necessary repairs, as winter always catches you by surprise.

The most important thing is not to forget about shoe trees. They will protect shoes from creases, cracks and dents.

These can be either factory inserts or crumpled newspapers. It is believed that the best material is a special cedar last, which absorbs moisture and refreshes shoes.

Earlier we talked about how to eliminate unpleasant odors in the house.
