Professional “chemistry” undoubtedly quickly copes with plaque, rust and other contaminants present on the surface of the toilet.

However, commercial products often contain toxic fumes that can cause serious harm to health.

If you don't want to risk your well-being, try replacing household chemicals with a homemade starch-based gel.

To prepare the gel, you will need the following ingredients:
• 600 ml of water;
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch;
• 2 tablespoons citric acid4
• 10 ml of grated soap or liquid soap.

Pour 500 ml of water into a saucepan, add cornstarch and put on the fire. Stir the mixture over medium heat until it boils.

In a separate container, mix 100 ml of water and citric acid, then add liquid soap.

When the starch dissolved in water has cooled, pour the resulting mixture into it – the cleaning agent is ready.

There is one more ingredient to add - a small amount of food coloring, which is needed to determine how well the composition is distributed throughout the toilet bowl.

And to return not only cleanliness but also freshness to the bathroom, mix the cleaning solution with a couple of drops of essential oil.

Thanks to its thick consistency, the gel adheres well to earthenware, and the acid and soap effectively remove dirt.
