Without exception, all people who wear glasses face the problem of their fogging up – condensation on the lenses appears as soon as you enter a warm room from the street.
There are many folk remedies that promise to eliminate this problem. The most popular of them is the use of soap.
We will tell you why you shouldn’t trust this method and what to do to prevent your glasses from fogging up.
Rubbing the lenses with soap and spreading it over the surface with a napkin is not recommended for several reasons.
First, it can be difficult to distribute soap evenly on the lens.
Secondly, if water gets on the surface, it will create soap stains that will impair visibility.
Thirdly, and most importantly, this method does not prevent the lenses from fogging up. Condensation will still form on the glasses, which will need to be wiped off with a napkin.
And fourthly, using soap can damage the lens coating, making it impossible to restore them. In this case, you will have to buy new glasses.
What to do, you ask? The answer is simple: go to an optician and ask them to sell you antifog – a special product to prevent glasses from fogging up.
