Most, if not all, users of automatic washing machines make the same mistake.

We are talking about loading laundry into the drum of the washing machine. All housewives know what the maximum load of the equipment is designed for, but who of them has ever weighed the laundry before washing?

Meanwhile, overloading affects the washing results, as well as the service life of household appliances. We will tell you how to do it correctly.

It is no secret that most housewives focus not on the weight of things, but on their volume. They will wash as much as they can fit.

But when wet, the material will weigh heavier.

Secrets of washing

1. Based on the drum volume, load it no more than ⅔ of the total volume.

2. Cotton items are loaded according to the machine specifications. Synthetics are loaded into the drum by ⅔, and wool by ⅓.

3. Linen and clothing should not be twisted, piled or tightly packed.

4. You should also observe the minimum loading threshold – at least 1.5 kg.

What and how much does it weigh?

You can do without scales if you know the approximate weight of certain wardrobe items.

For example, shirts and blouses weigh from 100 to 250 grams, T-shirts from 70 to 300, and trousers (jeans) 300-700 grams.

A tracksuit weighs from 650 to 1300 grams, and pajamas weigh 300-500 grams.

One set of bed linen or a blanket weighs about 1-1.5 kg, a bath towel about 700-800 g, and a kitchen towel 150 g.

By taking precautions, you can extend the life of your machine and avoid costly repairs.
