How to clean limescale from a tap: a folk remedy for a mind-blowing shine

As is known, plaque on plumbing fixtures occurs due to high water hardness, which, in turn, is caused by the concentration of mineral salts in it.

Typically, calcium and magnesium salts predominate in tap water. When combined with soap suds, they form white spots and stripes on surfaces.

If the water contains a large amount of iron salts, a yellow precipitate appears.

Not only special products, but also ordinary vinegar can cope with such stains.

To do this, you will need to prepare an aqueous solution by mixing the acid with water in equal quantities.

The solution is applied using a sprayer or sponge, left for 30-60 minutes (depending on the degree of contamination), then the surfaces are wiped with a sponge and rinsed with water.

Vinegar compresses are also used, which are applied to surfaces with old plaque or in hard-to-reach places.

To do this, the fabric is moistened with a hot vinegar solution and tightly wrapped around the mixer. The compress is left for about an hour, then the plumbing, as in the previous case, is washed with water.

If traces of plaque remain after the first treatment, the procedure can be repeated.
