To wash smooth linoleum, you don’t need to use hard abrasives – a regular microfiber cloth will do.
Also, linoleum cannot be cleaned with alkaline agents, such as soda, as it corrodes such coatings.
To remove stains, do not use solvents, bleaches, nail polish removers, or most household chemicals containing chlorine.
How then to wash linoleum?
Before cleaning, you need to vacuum it thoroughly or at least sweep it, as crumbs and sand can act as an abrasive.
For washing, a solution of soap and alcohol is suitable, which copes well with most dirt and ingrained grease.
Turpentine is also suitable, as it easily removes greasy stains from linoleum. Just wet a cotton pad and wipe the stain.
You can wash the floor with sauerkraut juice, which can cope with even old dirt.
