Over time, cutlery becomes coated with dirt, grease and food debris. Dirt often accumulates between the tines of forks.
You can remove dirt and return your cutlery to its excellent appearance by additionally soaking it in a soda solution, which will definitely “please” spoons and forks made of stainless steel, nickel silver, and aluminum.
The solution can be prepared very simply.
For two liters of water you should take only 2 tablespoons of salt and soda, as well as another tablespoon of citric acid.
Forks and spoons should be kept in this mixture for about 30-40 minutes. Then all that remains is to wipe the utensils with a clean sponge.
If the contamination is serious, then for this amount of water you need to take two spoons of mustard powder.
The forks should be left in the mixture for an hour.
If we are talking about more delicate materials, for example, silver or porcelain, then there is a more complex cleaning method.
First, you need to cover the bottom of the pan with foil, and you can place the utensils on top.
For one liter of liquid, take 50 g of salt and soda. All this should be heated for 20 minutes on minimum heat. When the water cools down, you can proceed to cleaning the devices with a sponge.
