It is believed that a kitchen sponge should be changed at least every two weeks, as it accumulates a lot of dirt.
It is important to understand that dishwashing detergent only removes some of the bacteria – they will continue to multiply.
The easiest option is to simply take a new sponge and throw the old one in the trash.
But a thrifty housewife would never do this. Let's look at an alternative method.
It is enough to use 4 liters of water with a glass of bleach added to it.
Simply leave the sponge in this solution for 5 minutes, then rinse the sponge with plenty of water until the bleach is washed away.
You can also use other simple methods, such as washing the sponge with regular laundry soap. But in this case, the bacteria contained inside the sponge will not be removed.
