Despite warnings from plumbers, many people continue to pour the contents of a cup that recently contained coffee straight into the kitchen sink.
The result of such actions is the regular occurrence of blockages in the drainage system.
If a kind of “plug” has formed in the siphon (also called the knee), you can fix the problem by disassembling it and cleaning out the masses accumulated inside.
But it is not so easy to get rid of the coffee grounds that pass further and settle on the walls of the pipes, each time forming an increasingly thick layer of plaque.
To restore the functioning of the water supply, you will need to change the pipes, and this, you must admit, is not an easy task.
What should we do, you ask? We can’t just pour the liquid substance into a regular garbage bag.
Indeed, there is a much more acceptable solution - pouring coffee grounds into the toilet.
Firstly, the pipe connecting the coffee machine to the drainage system has a diameter of 110 millimetres, which is significantly larger than the pipe leading from the kitchen sink (its diameter is only 50 millimetres). And secondly, the coffee grounds do not have time to settle on the walls of the pipe due to the short distance between the drain hole and the main drain.
Previously, we talked about how to quickly and effectively collect fragments .
