Why you should lubricate your kitchen knife with lemon: a life hack for which hundreds of housewives are grateful

Lemon is a seemingly common product, but it is precisely this that helps to cope with one of the most common problems encountered when cooking.

We are talking about such a nuisance as a stinging sensation in the eyes, which inevitably occurs every time you start chopping onions.

It turns out that if you rub a lemon on all sides of your knife blade, you'll never have to cry over an onion lying on your cutting board again.

But that's not all that sour citrus can do.

If you feel that after cutting onions or garlic your hands have an unpleasant smell, wipe your palms with lemon juice.

After this, rinse your hands with clean water and you can safely sniff – the smell will be gone.

However, if there is damage to the skin, it is better not to resort to this method: lemon juice, getting into an open wound, will sting a lot.

However, this does not stop you from using lemon juice when you need to get rid of the smell not from your own hands, but from wooden cutting boards, which tend to absorb foreign odors.
