Rust that has eaten into the enamel is not so easy to wash off, and often housewives just give up. Let's try to find out if it is possible to remove rust stains with home remedies.
How to remove rust
Firstly, poor quality water is to blame for everything, and therefore water filters can help, and it is better not to postpone cleaning.
Secondly, you can use household chemicals – powders, alkaline and acidic agents.
Thirdly, home-made “chemistry” is also good in this case; you can prepare it yourself.
Folk remedies
1. Apply vinegar to the stains, leave for a couple of hours, and use a brush to clean.
2. Bring a glass of table vinegar to a boil, but do not boil, add soda, apply to the stain, leave for 3 hours, clean and rinse.
3. Sprinkle a couple of packets of citric acid on the surface of the toilet, then apply vinegar from a spray bottle, clean and rinse with water.
4. You can mix lemon juice with salt and use the resulting paste to brush off the stains and rinse.
5. Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide 1:1, apply the resulting paste to the stains, leave for a while, clean and rinse.
In addition, there are known cases where rust on plumbing fixtures could be removed using cola or Fanta.
