Some people pour hot water into the kettle instead of cold, believing that this will make it boil faster.
We explain why this should never be done.
Firstly, hot water is intended for household and hygienic needs, not for drinking.
Hot water contains many more harmful impurities than cold water. Lead ions and polyacrylamide are especially dangerous.
Secondly, the more often you pour hot water into the kettle, the more scale will accumulate in it.
And the more scale there is in the kettle, the longer it takes to heat the water. In addition, the electric kettle may simply break down due to scale.
