Carefully insert the wire that you were able to “get” from the hanger into the toilet drain and move it in different directions.
It's a good idea to be careful for two reasons: you might accidentally cut yourself with the sharp wire or scratch the toilet finish.
It would probably be unnecessary to say that the hanger cannot perform its previous functions after this procedure.
