Over time, the carpet loses the attractive appearance it had when purchased.
This can be caused by spilled tea, dirty pet paws, or just general wear and tear of the carpet. But there are a few tips that will help “revive” the carpet or rug.
A vacuum cleaner is a must for cleaning the carpet. It is also prepared in advance: the garbage bag is cleaned or the filter is changed if it has been used for more than 3 months.
Over time, fluffy carpets lose their bounce, but they can be refreshed with baking soda and white vinegar.
First, distribute the soda, rubbing it into the fibers with a brush. Leave the soda for several hours or overnight. Then vacuum the carpet or rug, collecting debris and soda.
Then fill the spray bottle with vinegar and cold water (1:1). Spray the resulting solution onto the carpet.
What does the procedure provide:
If a stain forms on the carpet, it is better to get rid of it immediately. For example, if we are talking about stains that are soluble in water (drinks or dirt), then they are removed with vinegar - a quarter of a teaspoon per 1 liter of water.
For stubborn stains (blood, coffee, wine) use 1 tbsp. ammonia mixed with 500 ml of water.
