A cast iron or acrylic bathtub can be cleaned using products that are available in every home.
Over time, even the most expensive plumbing fixtures become covered with a yellow coating. This happens due to poor quality water and improper maintenance.
Mineral salts and microorganisms that get on the surface of the bathtub eat into it and over time form a yellow coating.
Fill the bathtub with warm water so that the liquid covers the dirt. Pour in 500 ml of vinegar (9%), stir and leave to soak for half a day. Then drain the water and wipe the surface of the plumbing with a soft cloth.
There is a similar method using citric acid. The principle is the same, but you need 300 g of the product. Or you can do it differently: dissolve 15-20 g of citric acid in 1 liter of water, and then wipe the problem areas with the resulting solution.
The surface of acrylic sanitary ware is more delicate, so you cannot use a brush. A solution made from citric acid is applied to the yellow coating.
It is important that all the crystals dissolve. After application, do not wash off immediately, but leave for 20 minutes.
Soda is also suitable for an acrylic bathtub. The product is mixed with water to form a thick paste. It is applied to problem areas and left for 15 minutes. After a quarter of an hour, the soda is washed off.
After each use of the acrylic bathtub, it is recommended to rinse it with clean water and then wipe it with a sponge. This will help to avoid the formation of soap or limescale.
