How to clean a toilet cistern

You will need citric acid for the job. But there is no point in simply pouring it into a tank of cold water. First, you need to do a few simple steps.

To begin, prepare a simple solution: 300 g of citric acid per 3 liters of boiling water. The product is completely dissolved in water.

Then the total volume is brought to 6 liters by adding warm water. Thus, the temperature of the prepared solution should be 45-50 degrees.

Next, shut off the water supply to the toilet and drain the liquid from the tank. Then pour the prepared solution in and leave for a while. If the contamination is not very serious, then after 30 minutes the tank is cleaned with a brush.

If the plaque has been accumulating for years, you will have to put in more effort. Use a paper towel or toilet paper, which is soaked in the prepared solution. Paper pieces are glued to those areas that were previously exposed to the cleaning liquid. After 6-8 hours, remove the plaque with a brush.
